About

The Dr. John Grieco Scholarship Fund is a student-run non-profit 501(c)3 charity led by Dwight Morrow High School / Academies @ Englewood Social Studies teacher, Judy Aronson. The fund was founded in 2004 after the untimely death of Englewood's Superintendent of Schools, Dr. John Grieco. As a tribute to Dr. Grieco's work in founding the Academies@Englewood and encouraging excellence in the Englewood Public Schools, teachers, administrators, and parents donated the seed money to create the Dr. John Grieco Scholarship Fund.

The fund is organized and run as an academic class for students at Dwight Morrow High School and the Academies @ Englewood. The goal of the scholarship fund is to raise money each year to give out $22,000 in scholarships to deserving students who attend Dwight Morrow High School and the Academies @ Englewood.

A male and female from each school - and in each grade - are chosen as winners through an application process and the 16 scholarships are given out at various school awards ceremonies on the spring.

To date, the Dr. John Grieco Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $300,000 to nearly 300 Englewood Public School students. For further information, contact Judy Aronson at jaronson@epsd.org.
